Cookie policy
This policy explains how Codare Ltd uses cookies and similar technologies on Aquarist Network, what choices you have, and how to update your preferences.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites remember information about your visit — for example, keeping you signed in or understanding how pages are used.
We also refer to similar technologies (such as local storage used for cookie preferences) where relevant below.
2. How we use cookies
We use cookies in two broad categories on Aquarist Network:
- Strictly necessary — required for core functionality such as secure sign-in and account features.
- Analytics (optional) — used only if you accept analytics cookies in our banner. They help us understand aggregate site usage.
Analytics cookies are off by default. We do not load analytics tools until you explicitly choose “Accept analytics”.
3. Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are essential for the service to work as you expect. They cannot be switched off through our cookie banner because the site would not function properly without them.
| Purpose | Examples |
|---|---|
| Authentication and session security | Cookies that keep you signed in securely and help protect your account (for example session tokens). |
| Cookie consent preference | A stored preference so we remember whether you accepted or rejected analytics cookies and do not ask on every visit. |
4. Analytics cookies (optional)
If you accept analytics cookies, we may load the following tools in production environments only:
Google Analytics 4 uses Consent Mode: the measurement tag may be present on the page with analytics storage denied by default. Data collection begins only after you accept analytics cookies. Microsoft Clarity is not loaded at all until you accept.
| Tool | Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics 4 | Understand traffic sources, pages viewed, and general usage patterns in aggregate. | |
| Microsoft Clarity | Microsoft | Session recordings and heatmaps to improve page design and usability in aggregate form. |
These providers may set their own cookies when active. We configure analytics only after you consent. If you reject analytics cookies, these tools are not loaded.
For more about how personal data is handled, see our Privacy policy.
5. How to manage your choices
You can control cookies in several ways:
- On this site — use in the footer under “Legal” to reopen your analytics preference and accept or reject at any time.
- Browser settings — most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect sign-in and core features.
- Provider opt-outs — analytics providers may offer their own controls or industry opt-out tools; check their documentation if you use analytics elsewhere on the web.
6. How long cookies last
Session cookies expire when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain for a defined period or until you delete them. Analytics cookie duration is determined by the relevant provider when those tools are active.
Your analytics consent choice is stored locally so we can honour it on return visits until you clear site data or change your preference.
